Sport and Exercise Physician, Rheumatologist
Christa is a Sport and Exercise Physician and a Rheumatologist. She is the Head of Department of the Section Sports Medicine at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. As course director of the Master’s degree in Sports Medicine she is very involved in teaching and training. She is also regularly invited as guest speaker and lecturer at sports medical conferences and groups associated with sports medicine.
Christa was a Venue Medical Officer during the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2009 and the FIFA World Cup in 2010. She has also accompanied many national and international South African sports teams including the South African Olympic Team to Athens in 2004.
She is also an avid sports person and previously played netball on a national level. She also participated in ultra-distance running and cycling events.
