Sport Emergency Medicine
Efraim has passionately been involved in emergency medicine for 30 years, including involvement in mass gathering medicine, which resulted in him being called up for duty for the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010. Since then he has been actively involved with FIFA Medical in helping to establish international norms and standards for football medical services, football emergency medicine, particularly in the prevention and management of Sudden Cardiac Arrest on the Football Field.
Efraim is also involved in disaster medicine and has been actively involved in Urban Search + Rescue Missions to earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods and volcanoes. He just does not know how to sit home and relax.
Currently Efraim is head of an academic, teaching accident and emergency department at the Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital outside of Johannesburg, which keeps him busy and mostly out of trouble.
